Orthodontics is specific dental treatment used to improve the appearance, position and function of crooked or crowded teeth. The aim of orthodontic treatment is to straighten teeth and move them into a better position. This is most commonly done with a brace.

I couldn't be happier with the treatment I've received at Smile Studio. From someone who was petrified of going to the dentist and always having to have someone go with me or having to reschedule numerous appointments because I was too scared to go to being able to go alone with not a bit of bother is such an achievement for myself and I'm so pleased that it is with this dental practice. I would especially like to thank Sylvia as she has been nothing but lovely to me and has been extremely informative and reassuring about all treatments I have received as well as talking me through braces and my options for when I get them. I would definitely give this practice 5/5 stars and would recommend it to anybody. I look forward to seeing you all soon.
Patient Testimonial, Braces in Liverpool
Fixed Braces
They are small square brackets that are glued onto the teeth. Wires are then tied to the brackets to help move the teeth into the correct position. These braces are a very quick, efficient and comfortable way of straightening the teeth. If you are concerned about the appearance of metal braces, we also offers tooth coloured (white ceramic) fixed braces. We also offer tooth coloured fixed braces, which are our most popular option.
Clear Aligners
Clear aligners are a rapid technique using clear trays (similar to whitening trays or gum shields) to correct crooked, crowded or gapped teeth. They can work in six months or less and the results are long lasting and will transform your smile. Clear aligners are comfortable, effective and only require a few short visits to the practice.
Removable Appliances
These are usually used to correct minor problems and they only carry out limited tooth movements. They are made out of plastic and clip over the teeth. They should only be removed for cleaning or during certain activities.
FAQ's
What are orthodontic practices?
Orthodontic practices specialize in diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and facial irregularities. These practices use various orthodontic techniques to correct issues such as crooked teeth, misaligned jaws, and bite problems to help patients achieve beautiful smiles.
How can orthodontic treatment help me achieve beautiful smiles?
Orthodontic treatment can help you achieve beautiful smiles by straightening crooked teeth, correcting bite issues, and aligning your jaws. A well-aligned smile is not only aesthetically pleasing but also easier to maintain and keep healthy.
What is a treatment plan in orthodontics?
A treatment plan in orthodontics is a personalized strategy designed by your orthodontist to address your specific dental issues. It outlines the type of orthodontic techniques to be used, the estimated duration of treatment, and the expected outcomes, ensuring you achieve the best possible results on your orthodontic journey.
What are traditional braces?
Traditional braces are a common orthodontic treatment consisting of metal brackets and wires attached to the teeth. They gradually move teeth into their correct positions over time. Traditional braces are effective for treating a wide range of dental issues, including severely crooked teeth.
How do ceramic braces differ from traditional braces?
Ceramic braces function similarly to traditional braces but use clear or tooth-colored brackets, making them less noticeable. They are a popular choice for patients seeking a more discreet option while still effectively straightening their teeth.
What should I expect during my orthodontic journey?
During your orthodontic journey, you will have regular appointments with your orthodontist to adjust your braces or aligners, monitor progress, and ensure your treatment plan is on track. Patient care is a top priority, and your orthodontist will guide you through each step, addressing any concerns and helping you maintain good oral hygiene.

Nearly invisible braces help you achieve confident smiles without the conspicuous appearance of traditional braces.
Can orthodontic treatment improve my overall dental health?

Most people can manage dental treatments with little more than some slight anxiety. For some people however, going to the dentist is a lot more difficult. If you have ever avoided getting much needed dental care out of fear or anxiety, or if the thought of going to the dentist makes you anxious or nervous, then sedation dentistry could be for you.
