Many of us wish we had straighter teeth. It’s very important that, when we look in the mirror, we are happy with what we see. Our confidence levels can affect so many areas of our lives, from our social lives to our careers.
Here at Liverpool Smile Studio, we offer a wide range of braces and aligners to improve the appearance, position and function of crooked or crowded teeth. Straighter teeth are generally healthier, so choosing to straighten your teeth benefits your appearance, and your oral health.
In Liverpool, braces come in many different forms. Some are an evolution of traditional metal braces that many of us will be familiar with and some take a completely modern approach to straightening teeth.
Fixed braces
The most tried and tested method of straightening teeth is with a traditional fixed brace. These devices consist of square brackets glued onto the front of the teeth, with wires that join the brackets to help move the teeth into a more desirable position.
Many adults may not be happy with the appearance of these braces in Liverpool. Our most popular option is tooth-coloured braces that are made from ceramic. These blend in with the teeth much more than the traditional metal braces.
Removable appliances
Another treatment that is very popular is the Inman Aligner. One of the biggest advantages of this type of treatment is that it’s completely removable, making it much more practical and easy to live with.
This treatment is suited to correcting mild to moderate misalignments.
The Inman Aligner sandwiches the very front teeth between two spring-loaded aligner bars that gently adjust your teeth over a shorter period of time. With this kind of braces in Liverpool, treatment times can be as little as six weeks, depending on the alignment issue.
Invisible aligners
Invisalign straightens your teeth with a series of custom moulded plastic aligners that are transparent, making them virtually invisible to the untrained eye. Invisalign is almost entirely made of plastic, with just small, discreet metal clips for the aligners to snap on to.
Invisalign is suited to less dramatic adjustments than a fixed appliance, so it’s best to visit your dentist to discover which treatment suits you best.
