Being able to flash a beautiful smile can be a real self-confidence booster, which is why more and more people are coming to see an orthodontist in Liverpool. Many of our braces patients at Liverpool Smile Studio come to us because they want to get ahead in the kind of job that involves face to face interactions with the public, such as the retail work, media, and sales. Others just want to look their best for an important occasion, such as first dates and weddings.
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that focusses on the development, prevention, and correction of irregularities of the bite and jaw.
In plain English, this means that if you have crooked, misaligned or crowded teeth, orthodontics at Liverpool Smile Studio can help you realign your teeth. Seeing an orthodontist in Liverpool can also help you prevent your children’s teeth from becoming misaligned as they grow through.
Orthodontics also provides solutions for more serious problems with the face and jaw. These can lead to what is known as malocclusion, which is a term for when the teeth on the upper and lower jaws don’t fit together properly, causing problems with eating and muscle strain.
Orthodontics has a range of treatments to solve your problem and suit your lifestyle and pocket. If you don’t have a problem with your bite then you will probably also find that braces these days get results much more quickly than the heavy metal braces of the past, and you could be looking at treatment lasting a matter of weeks rather than months or even years.
Our various brace and aligner systems gently reposition the teeth. We fit fixed braces that have tooth-coloured brackets and wires, so that they blend in with the mouth. The two brands we work with are Six Month Smiles and Fast braces.
We also use a special removable wired clear plastic aligner, the Inman Aligner, that is designed to reposition the front teeth only.
And we offer another kind of aligner from Invisalign. This system uses a series of custom-made transparent plastic trays, which fit over the teeth to gently guide them into a new position.
