Veneers are a relatively simple dental treatment that we offer at Liverpool Smile Studio. They can sometimes be used to avoid having more extensive treatments like cosmetic orthodontics.
Veneers can correct minor misalignments or close gaps between your teeth. They are also commonly offered to cover stains that do not respond to regular teeth whitening treatment.
The process of fitting veneers in Liverpool
When you are considering veneers in Liverpool with us, we can talk you through the whole process. There may be slight variations depending on your circumstances but the basic treatment plan remains the same.
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that are moulded to fit the contours of your teeth. Your dentist at Liverpool Smile Studio will take impressions of your teeth so that they can be made.
First, they need to remove a thin layer of enamel from you tooth so that the veneer will fit properly. This is a painless procedure and so no anaesthetic is required. Sensitive patients may still request a local anaesthetic. Talk to your practitioner if you think this applies to you.
While you wait for your veneers to arrive – usually around two weeks – you will have temporary covers on your teeth.
At your next appointment, your veneers will be fitted using a dental cement. It is flexible to begin with so the dentist can move them around until they are in the perfect position. Once they are established, the adhesive is hardened using a light. Any excess material is removed and your procedure is complete.
Caring for your veneers is easy. You just need to floss and brush as normal.
Some things to note
Having veneers placed is an irreversible procedure so you need to be sure before you go ahead. This is part of what makes them so secure.
No matter how well you take care of them, your veneers need to be replaced at some point. This gives you a chance to renew your smile again in the future.
Veneers are not usually available on the NHS. You need to budget for your treatment. We have finance plans available so you can start treatment straight away. You may be able to borrow between £350 and £50,000 subject to status.
