How veneers work
A veneer is a micro-thin shell of porcelain that is placed over the front surfaces of the teeth to improve their appearance. They are suitable for use in both the upper and lower jaw, and can mask a multitude of smile problems.
At our Liverpool dental centre we often hear veneers being referred to as “like false fingernails for the teeth.” In some senses that is true, but there is one important difference; false nails don’t have a particularly long shelf life. The procedure
It takes at least two appointments to have your veneers fitted at our Liverpool dental clinic. During the first session your dentist will take photographs, impressions, and measurements as necessary. The will also prepare your teeth by removing a miniscule amount of tooth enamel to aid in the bonding process – this is done under local anaesthetic.
When your veneers are ready, you will be called back to Liverpool Smile Studio to have them fitted. Your dentist will check you are entirely happy before bonding them in place.
